325000 isn't viable as a lottery number as each number has to be unique :)
I haven't been spoiled for any of these episodes, apart from the existence of Jack's daughter, so I wasn't expecting the climax. I won't be surprised whichever way they choose to go with it, though: they killed Owen and Tosh last year, so killing Ianto now isn't exactly a step too far. Having said that... RTD seems to able to handwave all sorts of mysterious resurrections, and even if I don't care for Ianto personally he's popular among TW fans and RTD knows that. It would also be quite a risk, I'd think, to return to a normal season with Jack the only surviving member, much as Jack's the key character - assuming there is actually going to be another series. We'll see.
It would be Jack and Gwen if they leave Ianto dead. But leaving him dead is also going to ruin all the lovely, lovely publicity they get in the alternate press for having a cannonical gay couple.
OTOH, she says wearily, at least it will end the constant "he's gonna die now." (Ianto lives) "How about now?" His death was written in and out of the two previous seasons, and so the entire fandom's been waiting loudly for the other shoe to drop.

My latest weird thought about it was bringing Ianto back as a virtual simulation living on the mainframe. Mostly because wouldn't that yank Jack's chain, when you think about the practical implications...
If Torchwood comes back for season 4, I'm gonna be amazed, to be honest!
I'm wondering about that, and realizing that maybe I can live without Ianto if this is the end, fade to sunset. OTOH, I hear the ratings are excellent.
On the third hand, I just can't get past RTD thinking the show will continue without over half the cast. Unless he wants to "reboot" by having new "bring new people into Torchwood" episodes.

That would be kinda cool. And if the latter part ever happened, I think some people would fall to their knees and bless you and your progeny.

BTW, mentioned your theory on another journal. It's proven popular, especially the last bit. :D

I don't know.

He sounded keen to do a fourth season before S3 aired - but that might just have been because he didn't want to give away the ending...
