Sorry about the spam, but there were a bunch of things I wanted to pass on:

I echo the latest calufrax recommendation: Dating in the Workplace, an all-era video/Big Finish crackfic about the ins and outs of romantic relationships in the TARDIS - the companions', the Doctor's, and more. The last bit is probably funnier if you're familiar with the comic/ ( Read more... )

I haven't read the book, but re: "Seasons of Fear"-- the President Franklin reference is part of a series of historical errors that season which are later revealed-- I think in "Neverland," but I may be misremembering-- to be indicators that the Doctor and Charley's timestream has been tampered with. Nice idea, but they did it a little too subtly to be successful, IMHO.

Is it? That's the problem with listening to them out of order.

I'm right there with you - I read "The Many Hands" first (as I'm Nerdish enough to read them in the "proper" order) and the first part saw me leaving a squeeful comment on my LJ about it - and then it fell apart... When even a complete non-scientist like me can see the skience is lousy, you know it's bad !

Bah humbug !

And it started off *so* promisingly, damnit! But you're right, it really falls apart.

Yes !

I saw an "official" review yesterday (linked via W-D) of "Martha in the Mirror" and saw that the reviewer thought it didn't do Martha any favours, and I wondered what the reviewer had made (or would make) of "The Many Hands".

Well, Mirror doesn't do Martha any favors. I think Hands is better for that (even the Rose thing didn't bug because it wasn't her just up and saying something catty, it was the Doctor provoking her) because on the whole Martha was reconizably Martha. It's just that the skience wasn't recognizably skience.
