By now most of the people on my f-list have heard about the little boy who got in trouble for pledging allegiance to the United Federation of Planets instead of the American flag. His mother has started a Cafe Press store with the full pledge on it.

If I order one now, will it show up in time for Shore Leave, I wonder?

The pledge is cute and the shirts will probably sell like hotcakes.
But ... the die hard skeptic in me thinks that this is a screaming Urban Legend that a clever person thought up in order to market the shirts as an income stream.

I know, so what? People will love the shirts.

But come on ... no name, no city, no state, no school named - and it ties into people's outrage about what "they" (you know, them, the stupid people, the people who AREN'T us!!!) are doing to defenseless young children who are clever (like when we were clever kids).

If someone can find a link to a named news source (and not a blog) that carries the details of this story, let me know, I want to read it. And then you can pass the ketchup and I'll eat my words.
