Afternoon Delight
An enlightening afternoon of Turkish and Arabic Dance
with the amazing Naharin and the magnificent Michael Gregian

At Naharin Studios 43 Bradford Ave, Bradford, MA 01835
$40 by pre-registration only
This is a comprehensive workshop for all levels of dancer, with an overview, comparison & contrast of Turkish/Armenian & Arabic style shows & clarifications on the rhythms used.
CLASS WILL INCLUDE:
Ø ENTRANCE ~ Turkish/Armenian style vs. Arabic style entrance
Ø VEILWORK ~ Using Chiftetelli and Rhumba rhythms
Ø FLOORWORK ~ Slow Chiftetelli rhythm and Taxim
Ø DRUM RHYTHMS ~ Three types
Ø KARSILAMA (9/8) ~ With footwork and skirt
Naharin has been lighting up the floor at clubs, functions and large- scale events throughout New England for many years. She is a highly skilled and respected professional Middle Eastern Dance artist and instructor, and her work has long been sought after by the Middle Eastern and American public.
Michael Gregian is a master of flute, clarinet & dumbek, delighting audiences for many years throughout the United States. His exceptional work can be found on many recordings. He currently plays at the Athenian Corner, & at private & public events.

This workshop is limited to twelve people~ register early. Your pre-registration and payment secures your space, therefore, refunds are not possible. Bring zills and a veil, notebook, and full skirt. Workshop begins promptly at noon; please arrive on time. On-street parking is available. Directions follow.
DIRECTIONS~
From 495 North or South, take exit 48. This will connect to route 125. Bear left onto route 125 North, and proceed approximately 1.5 miles, until you see a large sign for “OLDE TOWN REALTY” on the left. Take that left by the sign. This is Bradford Ave. (there is no street sign). Travel another 1/10th of a mile to the 10th house on the right, which is a white single-family house with number ‘43’ on the front. Walk up the driveway, pass the porch on your right, and go down the enclosed staircase and into the studio. Do not ring any doorbells!
