Back from work! Yes, work. Granted, it's another temp job, but it is, indeed, work. And it's good work. For those who don't know (which I think is pretty much, hm, all of you?) today was my first day working at the Humane Society. Now, if that isn't the perfect assignment for me, then I don't know what is.

They hired me to maintain the ( Read more... )

Wah! For now, anyways. I'm not sure how long the job is supposed to last, really. All Randstad said was "a couple of weeks". I'm gathering that the gist of my position there is filling in for Carol, who is training me this week, when she goes on vacation starting Monday. It looks like her vacation lasts until the first of January (I think) so that'll probably be the point where the job ends... or something like that maybe ( ... )

Sorry Marties, wish I could help you out! I don't know what helps me not feel nervous. But maybe whatever you're trying (like logically reasoning it out) isn't working, so try something different! Maybe whenever you feel nervous, just shout, "WHOOPEE!"

Man, those are nice hours! Except you get out when it's dark, but hey, I get out at 5 and it's still dark, so it's probably not too bad.

You mean that's where the aminals go when they're put to sleep??

I look forward to seeing you when I come home.

What's so inhumane about burgers at Wendy's? You'd think the burgers were made from cats. Oh wait, that's what a Chinese restaurant does.

Well, fact that I don't know Wendy's reputation on how well or poorly they treat their livestock notwithstanding, 99% of the Humane Society are vegetarians, and I'm stared at all day long by posters of kyoot widdle animals asking me not to eat them and promoting a healthy and humane vegetarian lifestyle. Just feels kinda wrong to head out and chow down on a chunk of ol' Bessie.

If the vegetarians pester you about eating meat, just say they're not as hard core as vegans. In terms of eating the cute little animals, cows are neither cute nor little.
