Stuff

Creation wise I have the second animation box about 50% done, all of the animations have been pulled and a good chunk of them have been coded.  I can only do the coding so long at any one stretch before my eyes start to cross.  I started getting anxious for various sims 3 stuff to be converted to sims 2 so I acquired the available expansions and ( Read more... )

It looks interesting! I still can't imagine playing with the open world feature. Having everyone living their lives without me there to oversee it all 24/7 (not to mention them all getting married and having kids and so on!) would drive me nuts.

It's very strange to me playing in the manner that Sims 3 intends you to play. I can easily see the draw for those people that never play more than one household at a time, that kick out the spares and never play them ect.. But that's not the way I play.

Doing a DIFT is the only reason, so far, that I would get Sims 3. I've been reading a few and they look interesting. I'm like you and De though, I'm not sure I would like the open world features. I'm still not totally enamored with the look of the sims either.

Still, I think I'll add it to my Christmas wish list since everyone always says I'm so hard to buy for. :D And the expansion packs, of course. :D

I decided to try the DIFT since my general playstyle doesn't work without any type of a challenge setting and DIFT is the most interesting (to me) of the challenges I've seen. And yeah I'm still not in love with the sims appearance, but I've gotten to the point where I'll go 'oh he's cute!' ect..

The expansions really do make a difference. They've added a lot since I first tried and tossed away the base game.

Yay for simming! It looks like fun, and actually made me think maybe I should give TS3 another try sometime. (On the other hand, I procastrinate enough as it is, so maybe I should not. ;) ) DIFT looks like a fun challenge, and I definitely had to giggle at Oriole's autonomous guy adventures. :D

Yeah, Yay for actually simming. Recently the only thing I've been all that interested in sims wise is creating, and to a degree what's the point of creating something you don't use? I'm hoping this will get me back into things a bit. DIFT is a fun challenge and it's really made to force the player into trying different things which is cool.

You have begun messing around with sims 3 to sims 2 conversions? I will be excited to see anything you come up with!

And don't feel bad about enjoying sims 3. Some of the new expansion packs have me wanting to try my hand at it again, particularly pets and generations. Of course the whole can't find an unattached, not knocked up sim to marry thing is what drove me nuts the last time I tried to play it...sorry to see they haven't fixed that...

Enjoy your DIFT challenge! I've been reading a few over on boolprop and they look interesting!

So far, what I've worked on is mostly store content. I've never done much with object meshing so it's a learning process.

When I tried base game it was so bland, been there done that and done that better type thing. But with the expansions there's some really cool stuff that I wish I could have in sims 2 (all of the WA tomb exploring to start with). The finding an available potential spouse thing is kinda nuts and I'm sure that it's not helped by my ACRish mod.

The DIFT is fun and it's a good way to force yourself to try new stuff.
