Book review: Catching Fire
I started reading Catching Fire after I read a review of it in the New York Times last year. The author, Richard Wrangham, is a primatologist who studied under Jane Goodall. The book is primarily a presentation of a new hypothesis that Wrangham has come up with about the origins of modern humans.

I know that
1) Penguins don't live in igloos that have electricity and all modern amenities
and
2) Penguins are birds and therefore do not lactate.
But I still get sort of upset when I see Pingu's little sister Pinga getting a bottle.

I was already supremely uninterested in watching the new Robin Hood movie, but then I saw a TV spot in which Cate Blanchett is on a horse, wearing chain mail, surrounded by other knights in shining armor. Am I the only one who thinks Casey's gone soft? He's way too patient with Morgan, especially given his massive eyerolling with Chuck the first season. And Morgan doesn't even have the advantage of having a computer in his head. So I watched Desperate Housewives last night, and I finally understand the John Barrowman lustlove. Although part of it may be because his character is planning to kidnap/injure/kill one of the more annoying characters on the show. OTOH, I think I'd be a fan of those eyes no matter what...
