Well, that sucks! I didn't know Detective McGarrett, but I'm willing to do what I can to help find his killer. Not sure what that could possibly be, but if someone here is in charge of the case and can tell me what they need me to do, I'll do it. I'll be over here at Tim's desk, seeing if I can find anything useful on his computer.

*runs fingers through hair*

Another murder, always a great way to start the day. *sighs*

And Gibbs and his team aren't here? Something must be really wrong for him to not to storm in and take lead.

Mostly I'm just confused as to why my team seems to be comprised of Tim McGee's little sister and very tattooed civilian. (Nothing against the ink. Just a little confused here.)

Who exactly am I to supposed to be reporting to? Or am I senior NCIS agent here?

I guess Gibbs' team only covers the murders of NCIS characters. Characters of other TV shows call upon our team to figure it out. As for senior agent, I would think either you or Sam would have seniority (though I'm not sure how Trent Kort and the CIA work into our hierarchy).

From what Tim has told me, I think Gibbs would have a fit if he found out that Mr. Kort had been put in charge of anything here at NCIS. Just an observation from "Tim McGee's little sister."

I'm still not exactly sure how this falls under NCIS jurisdiction, was he helping Agent David with a case at the time?

And yes, I'm guessing I would be the senior agent and SAIC of this case. Of course it would have been nice if someone would have told me that prior to my arrival. But yes, I don't think Gibbs would approve of the CIA swooping in and taking over a NCIS investigation.

Should I do the autopsy or are we waiting for Dr. Mallard so that he could do the autopsy?

Looks like Dr. Mallard is indisposed.

Dr. Hampton, if you could do the autopsy it might reveal some clues as to who killed Det. McGarrett.

I'm shocked and saddened that Mr. McGarrett was murdered this morning... Such a tragic loss, hopefully his killer will be brought to justice swiftly.

Lauren, you have your ear to the ground in the intelligence community. Have you heard any rumblings about anything going down in Hawaii or why Det McGarrett would have been targeted?

Sam, it would seem that Commander McGarrett was murdered for his connection to the Navy and specific members. It's my understanding that it's a targeted attack, not isolated and we should clearly be on the lookout for someone who has a vested interest in taking out people who hold a strategic position within the Navy.

Navy connection huh? I wonder if we should be worried that we could be possible targets?

I called up an old SEAL buddy of McGarrett's to see if he knew of anything hinky going on with him. Nothing.

Was McGarrett in a relationship with Agent David? Was his visit to DC purely social?

I wish we could talk to Agent David, but as she is indisposed also - looks like if there is anything to find, we have to find it on our own.

Anyone getting a gut feeling on this yet? I have to admit my gut is being pretty quiet.

*sips coffee*

I'd guess they had to be working a case together or at least be on naval property for this to fall under our jurisdiction. He may have been a former Seal, but he currently works for a different branch of law enforcement.

I'm not sure how we ended up with this case really, no one seems to have come up with any decent intel yet.

As for gut feelings, I can honestly say I'm drawing a blank. Maybe if I go over what we actually do have again...
