1.01 Yankee White

They did an excellent job with the voice impersonation and the stock image/shadows editing for President Bush's character.

Destined for stars?

'Expect problems, Agent Todd, and with a little luck you'll never lose a president." That sounds like something Gibbs would say. Gibbs and Kate's SS boss are a lot alike.

Kate looks really pale in the start ( Read more... )

Permits for the weapons, badges to prove their employment, and still not allowed to carry on their bags. Ridiculous! I'll bet Ducky loved that.

Heh - funny. I read just yesterday about a Norwegian pilot who'd refused to take off his shoes to go through the security check. I mean... he's the one flying the plane. He probably won't need a hidden knife to hijack the plane, nor a hidden bomb to destroy it... *facepalm*

"Oh, sorry! We overbooked the flight"

One of the great lines of the episode :-D

"All they can do is watch...and bitch."

And the greatest line in this episode IMHO. Arrogant Fornell = stupid Fornell *eg*

Using the president's bathroom.

I love that scene so much! Gibbs just casually using the presidential loo... And, of course, Ducky and Tony taking pictures in the presidential chair. And now I'm thinking someone should've snook in to take a candid shot of Gibbs in the loo ( ... )

That is ridiculous. But actually, they don't want him hurting anyone. He needs the same security precautions, since he isn't an agent.

I don't think taking a picture of Gibbs in the presidential head would go over very well.

Yes, that was great!

It's amazing Gibbs wasn't hit by one of those many bullets.

Or that none of the bullets hit the plane! You'd think an automatic weapon like that woulda hit someone or something critical.

Poor DiNozzo, bouncin' on the Beltway. Heehee.

It freaks me out when shows use the actual president (ok, not the *actual* guy, but y'know what i mean!), rather than just a random guy as president. I don't know why because I love when tv doesn't shy away from reality, but bringing actual named individuals in is just weird. It would have freaked me out just as much on West Wing if Bartlett had mentioned speaking to Blair rather than just the British PM. Or maybe I'm just odd *g*

ITA on Abby. She's wonderful :-)

Sleeping on the autopsy table does not look at all comfortable, but does seem very Gibbs.

And you've gotta love his not strictly by the book way of making a job offer! I'd love to hear the official story behind Tony getting his job...

It's a great ep that does a good job of being the pilot mark 2 & introducing Kate.

I think that guns you bring onto a plane are loaded with special bullets. Either that, or the Angel flights are equipped with some interesting fuselage. Because, yes, you're absolutely right. Shooting a hole in a plane at 12.000 feet is a profoundly bad idea.

I'd love to hear the official story behind Tony getting his job...

Me too!

Ooh, that would make a lot of sense! And all the weapons were from the on-board weapons locker weren't they?

That is true. Perhaps, knowing that situations could arise, they designed AFO to be somewhat bullet resistant. They'd hate to shoot a terrorist, only to cause the President to die in a plane crash as a result of their shots.

Poor Tony, indeed.

I suppose it's different for different people. I rather like realistic element of having "real people" on the show.

You're right. It does seem very Gibbs.

So would I.

Indeed it is.
