*fails at remembering what minimum word count is* If it's 2k, Both of my stories average out to that mean words. If it's not, I still have a bit to go to get both stories close to 3k. I know both artists seem to like the direction the story is going, so I'm hoping that they'll turn out well even if I'm beginning to wonder if one of them will end up on the short side. But I still have editing after the first draft to do, so hopefully that will fix any shortness in the stories. Either way I am still making progress on both stories and we still have like 2 months to get the first draft done, so I'm not worried yet. :D

The minimum is 3K, so you're close and you do have about two months before drafts are due. Glad they're both in the works and sounds like you're doing fine!

I’m at almost 18k and I think I’m almost done. Maybe. The characters took the story in a direction I wasn’t expecting and I’m so far off my outline that I’m not using it anymore. But it feels like I might be done in a few chapters. Maybe.

Sounds like you're in great shape! I tend to let my Muse do what he wants to. I confess, I've only once used an outline. Other than that, I just let the story roll where the wind blows! LOL
