Re: David Rambo's podcast interview

I don't know what I'm more squinty at...

+ Treasure under the city...

+ Miloe running the 'human city'. (As what? Co-Mayors? Who the hell did they kill died and voted them in?...I can't imagine anything more disorganised than both of them behind the administration of a city. I mean a war, an army sure...but a city? In relatively peaceful times? Is everyone living in one big house?)

+ Rachel becoming "more surprising". (What the hell does that mean?)

+ Bachel/Rass making a return to the forefront. (Could...you not have done that in S2?! That would have been awesome. Charlie's grudging friendship/allyship with Monroe contrasted against the crazy that is Rachel and Bass.)

Still, good things...+ At least there's no yes/no answer on whether Miles is Charlie's dad ( ... )

So I finally watched the finale and I'm catching up on the Comm, I'm leaving the episode discussion for last.

Miloe running the 'human city'. (As what? Co-Mayors? Who the hell did they kill died and voted them in?...I can't imagine anything more disorganised than both of them behind the administration of a city. I mean a war, an army sure...but a city? In relatively peaceful times? Is everyone living in one big house?)

I think it makes good material for a crack fic, because the idea of them being in charge is just all kinds of hilarious. Rachel could be scarily efficient, Gene could be good, Charlie would probably be too young for anyone to actually vote for her, but those two? I give it a month. And yes please to everyone living in the same house, more cracky hilarious shenanigans to ponder.

Bachel/Rass making a return to the forefront.

I would be too worried about a love triangle or Rachel causing Miloe to break up.

Ben still being around (at the end of S1) in some form and communicating with Grace. (OMG. Thank you Warner Bros ( ... )

It's weird that Jon Favreau is all encouraging, but David Rambo is saying it's dead. I get what he is saying (everyone says it's an expensive show to produce...though I am sure there are ways to cut some costs), but it's almost like the story lines of Revolution...one episode writer doesn't know what another episode writer is writing. :-)

I just wish we'd get an official statement, not mixed signals from two co-executive producers.

I love Favreau for being encouraging and I get where David Rambo's coming from.

I think the problem is they're coming at it from different places, Rambo would have been involved more in the day-to-day running of the ship that is Revo, while Favreau (after shooting the pilot) stepped in a couple times to throw in an opinion or two...doing just enough to still be in the credits.

So while Rambo's moved on and watched all of the writer's room move on to other projects, Favreau's hearing from the fans (and it sounds like he was a fan himself).

(everyone says it's an expensive show to produce...though I am sure there are ways to cut some costs)IKR. Go back to 20 episodes. Put the main gang in prison/confinement for half of S3, Charlie, Miles, Bass, Rachel - doing character development-y stuff. Drop in a flashback every 3 episodes. Have Aaron and Priscilla sit out this one with Gene, those guys making one or two appearances for the whole season, the last appearance happening just when the gang are really despairing for their freedom. I think they did the interview with David Rambo the day after the finale aired, or pretty close to it. Things might have changed since then. I'm hoping they have, since we haven't had an official statement from Kripke and Favreau sounds pretty encouraging. Also, SyFy and AMC both turned down picking up the show, but Netflix has been silent (and they weren't shy about turning down Community) so who knows what's going on behind the scenes. The petition's reached 35,000 signatures--that's about 9,000 more than the Almost Human petition has. Yes, I'm keeping track.

I'm still totally in denial about this whole thing.

And who would vote Miloe into power? Seriously? But that would be something I would be very gleeful at seeing. ;) and I also LOVE the pendants and am sorry they didn't really do much else with them. Thought that was super cool.

I think the thing Mat is doing is a theater production, not a TV show.

And it's funny, all this talk of Rachel and Bass I keep reading (on Twitter, etc.) based on Rambo's interview, which I listened to also...I never got that anything present day would be Rachel/Bass, just that they would be exploring more of Rachel and Bass from the past. I don't know, maybe I'm blocking some of the interview out of my conscious memory...for obvious reasons.

And Congrats!

Oooh...I might watch that. I mean I watched Resurrection (sort of...I can't remember what happened in the last episode, but I know I watched it) - same premise, different people. It could work. The one thing that drove me nuts about Resurrection was that an IMMIGRATION officer was investigating way, way out of his jurisdiction by staying in this little town to play detective, instead of going back to work (were they still paying him? Was he using up his sick days? Is this not something that should be explained?!). So maybe this one can have appropriately involved people...At the very least, having people pop up on other shows gives us material for AUs ( ... )
