Questions/Random Thread
Ask and I'll try and think of a good answer :P

I went with this banner...because of reasons. Miles calling Charlie a hick reasons. And her little smile before she answers, reasons.

Oh this is giving me nostalgic feelings of ag-fics and our memes Thursday! Just wanted to tell you that. I haven't actually read any Revolution fics yet as I only finished watching the first season the other day. I don't really have a ship either. A romantic one anyway.

Anyone have any good suggestions for some gen fics?

I don't think real gen fic actually exists in the Rev fandom.

Maybe try something with Jeremy (Baker), over on AO3?

Or Grace... or Aaron - the people without ships.

RECS
What should we have read? Where do we find it? Have you got a star, or out of ten rating? How many times have you read it? Is it bookmarked? Have you got a favorite for each ship you like?

I was kinda waiting for someone else to start this, so I could follow their format, but here it goes.

My favorite Revolution fic is buttercups' Aevum. It's a dual timeline Miles & Bass piece with a bit of Miles/Rachel. One timeline is 6 months post-Blackout and follows the creation of the Militia and the other is several years before the Blackout when Bass and Miles are in the hell-hole that is Afghanistan. It's a lovely comparison of Miles and Bass (and Jeremy) building and maintaining the Republic and Miles rebuilding himself.

I've re-read it a couple of times, the Miles/Rachel bits a bit more ;) it's a bit angsty for frequent re-reading, but it's uber-plausible and spot-on characterization wise.

Aevum | Miles & Bass | Mature | 30,577 words

I was going to post a rec - but I just went back and checked the link it's no longer public :/

There was a Tom/Nora/Jason fic posted to the Comm forever and a day ago and it was brilliant. It was the first Nora/anyone fic I'd ever read and it remains my favourite because it was pretty dark and - get this - all from Jason's POV...so it was this unusual little gem that stuck with me and I wanted everyone to read it. But oh well.

I guess I recommend anything by Corycides, but especially her Miles, Charlie, Bass stuff.

You know, we should get a 'Welcome to the Revolution Fandom' welcome packet thing at some point. I found one (on Tumblr) when I started watching Dexter and it really helped.

Fic recs! Yay. (And thanks, V, for the incredibly kind shout out. *snugs*)

Well, the story that is pure unadulterated crack for me is Dareyoutoread's Full House. It's almost difficult for me to explain, it's such pure genius - my brain cannot process its glory. Miles, Bass, and Rachel play strip poker pre-Blackout. It's the best UST that's ever been crafted by the hand of man. Just trust me. I'm an extremely picky reader. (p.s. Anything DYTR writes is super well-crafted and spot on chracterization-wise, so you should obsess over her as I do - but mainly on FF, because that's where she tends to dwell.)

And because I'm a horndog and think corycides is a rare talent and sexy mofo: Want, Take, Have and Winner Takes it All - both Miles with his hand down his pants. Seriously, if I could make Cory my slave and get her to write like a google plex MilesxMiles stories, that'd be the answer to life. I would imbibe forever on the sweet nectar of her labor.

"Charlie, don't look at me like that, Charlie!" raved the sunburned, wiry, blonde before kicking at the prone form. The ragged off-white sphere flew through the air, landed in the crystal-clear blue ocean and bobbed off, licked by the waves, yet another person to abandon Bass.

I'm sure this isn't what you were thinking of... but Cast Away! And now back to science...

That's not at all what I was thinking...I think...but it's FANTASTIC.

Wedding Day Jitters | Charlie/Any, Miles | G

"You have got to be kidding me!" Miles yells in frustration, as he ducks another hail of bullets and hides behind an old jeep, "how is it exactly that you're such a trouble magnet?".

"It's not like I planned on getting gunned down on my own wedding day!" Charlie retorts, sliding in next to him, her excited grin belying her words, as she shoots another arrow and they run to the next car, edging closer to the church, "still want to give me away?"

"I'll gift wrap you myself, if it means I finally get rid of you-" his lips quirk and she flashes him a huge, knowing smile-"enough of this touchy-feely crap, we've got a wedding to get to," they gaze at each other for a moment, nod in agreement and rush out from behind their cover, blazing their way towards the doors of the church.

No aisle running exactly, I hope this is sort of what you wanted.
