I'm guessing this is in reference to the Supernatural anime? I think they see the potential money-making in it (idk, from what little I've heard and seen, SPN seems to be superpopular in Japan). If the anime industry was fair, there would be far less animes based on dating sims. There is a lot of fluffy, mediocre fare out there. Whether or not SPN will add to that is to be seen, but after my initial surprise I'm pretty okay with them actually making it.

I actually do not care either way since my main interest in SPN revolves solely around Castiel. I was mostly commenting on the comment since it was an interesting one that I have yet to come across. Hence, my use of fair point rather than further elaboration. That and I'm still bummed they canceled the Alive anime. :(
