Defiantly vs. Definitely

Confession: It pisses the hell out of me to read fanfic where the author uses "defiantly" instead of "definitely". I stop reading the fic immediately and move on. I mean seriously! Seriously? Most authors enjoy reading, right? So wouldn't it be safe to assume they would know something doesn't look right when they use defiantly in the sentence

Am so glad to see that is somebody else's pet peeve. I mean on fanfic you see it all the time ... from multiple authors!! Like how can you get those mixed up??? I keep wanting to give people the benefit of the doubt by finding out it's some sort of autocorrect function that causes it. I'm with you ... I see it once and I'm out of there!
