It's just not right.

At 6:45am this morning, I was awakened by the sound of Jack retching out his guts. Why is he sick again? Why does this stomach flu keep coming around, and why doesn't it show ANY signs of its arrival the night before? He was fine, I swear - FINE. He played outside all afternoon long, he delivered cookies to many neighbors, he was playing and ( Read more... )

Ugh. Yesterday marked 3 weeks since the day A.J. began puking. Though we've had lots of great days in between, it seems like this darn stomach flu bug just won't finally go away!

But thankfully it's not been 3 months. I can't even imagine. You and I should just run away from our germy families - we'd be fine if only we could stay away from the rest of the sickos! ;-)

Just a thought, could he not have the flu, but maybe it is stress related with his daddy leaving and stuff? I know my stepkids get physically ill to the point of throwing up when they worry and stress over their mom etc. The fact this started before Philip left and is still going on makes me wonder if it's more of an emotional thing affecting his little body than just a flu bug.

I saw this earlier today, and have been wondering the same thing, also speaking from personal experience.

I'm not discounting that as a possibility, but I'm still leaning on thinking it unlikely right now. I definitely think it was a virus the first time around: A.J. started barfing, then Jack three days later, then Philip and I three days after that. The next day, Jack started again for another day. Then everyone was okay for a week. And then A.J. spiked a mysterious, high fever for about 36 hours, only to be followed by Jack puking again five days later. No fever, but then even when we were all throwing up, we had no fever, no aches, pains, chills, etc. Just lots of diarrhea. (TMI, sorry.)

And that's what Jack has now. He's happy as can be, but within 5 minutes of eating or drinking something, it's coming right back up. And he has the WORST gas ever because he can't keep anything down right now - ewwww.

If he wasn't a little boy, I'd recommend a dose of a very stiff drink. For real. Sometimes that just seems to do the trick. Don't ask.

If nothing else, I bet it'd knock him out. And if he's sleeping, he's not barfing. ;-)

oh no, it seemed like they just got over it. :o(

Did you wash all your laundry in hot water? You also might want them to change toothbrushes, too.

I hope they get over it soon.

I did a couple weeks ago when we were all sick. I washed bedding, clothes, curtains - everything. We even shampooed the car, and no one was sick IN it, even. :-/

Well, he finally got tested for it on Monday. Luckily, the test came back negative, but it was still good to know.
