They really sound like they're being very reasonable about things and i hope your 7-10 days is closer to 7!! (have you been giving yourself a pep talk too? I can see you going into serious camera withdrawal!! too bad they don't do loaners.)

Get a spare disposable while it's off being fixed. Not quite the same as it need developing but it's handy.
(I *think* there is some sort of disposable digital out there also...)
