Handwriting.

When I write in cursive, I tend to write very quickly. So quickly, in fact, that I often am not happy with the formation of letters. It doesn't seem to matter how much I "practice" my handwriting - my cursive just stinks. However, I do still feel it necessary to use it on a semi-regular basis.

On that note, I'm now curious...

first, I have a reason for not writing much out - RSI in my right index finger and it hurts. So I really prefer to do most stuff on a keyboard. When I write I tend to mix both cursive and non. I purposely start writing in one way and without thinking switch to another and then back again. If I want to I can print very neatly. My cursive can be legible, but it's not pretty. And my signature (thanks to the army) is illegible.

From an SO - content matters more then method.

I have a great aunt that writes LONG letters. I can't remember if she does cursive or print - what I do remember is she writes SMALL. So small I have to blow her letter up on a copier to read them!!

I couldn't answer your poll because I half handwrite, half print... and my husband doesn't do cursive!! But if I were to recieve a letter from my Nana, mother, or any family member or close friend I wouldn't want it in type. I was working at the scrapbook store when a lady came in with some old pictures of her mom who had recently passed away. She made the comment that the only things she had with her mom's handwriting was a couple of those old photos. That conversation really made me think about how I want to have samples of my loved one's writing. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I just thought I would share! :)

I selected 'cursive' for my writing styles, but it's actually a blend of manuscript and cursive.

heh i actually usually end up mixing cursive and print when i write. And my hubby-his cursive is so small that I can barely read it so it's easier in print. My grandma...she shakes so bad when she writes that it's not even legible thats why i said "type" but I only meant so that i could read it :) I love for her to write letters to me and my kids...

I did not get the handwriting gene! Both my mother and grandmother have/had absolutly perfect handwriting. Whenever my mother gave me a list to go to the store I was walways amazed that anyone could write so perfectly.
