Such a crazy busy life you've been living lately! I'm so glad that everything is going so well!!! I KNOW you'll enjoy your new house and I also KNOW you'll make it a home faster than I can bake my own set of cookies! :)

Love and hugs and wishes for a fun, but event-free drive.

Wow! You are super organized and I'm super impressed!!!

FYI - your LB dishes would have been fine - they are tough enough to survive most packers/movers, although one of my favorite covered baking dishes (round navy blue with an American eagle/star design on the lid) was a casualty of the last move (lid got broken) and I think it's because the casserole dish was inside the matching basket and it wasn't properly packed with the kitchen items. And believe me.... we had more broken stuff during our final move than added up over 20 years of previous moving! Still, you were smart to pack what you wanted to protect :-)

In the new house - will you rent back from the owners until closing? If so, that's a nice option and I hope it all works out for you. What town will you be living in?

Good luck with the move!! **hugs**

All four of the families we've known to move this summer from Minot have had EXTENSIVE damages, and the moving company was already blacklisted from the base by the end of May. However, they had to lift the ban because there wasn't another company that could take on the excess moves, so it's really risky right now. I already had to move all my cookie-making stuff myself (for a 3,000+ cookie order I have to work on as soon as we get there!), so I decided to simply pack my whole kitchen as well. Everything is Longaberger, and 90% is discontinued, so I knew it wouldn't be worth the fight. Yeah, they *might* replace things (though we've never had a claim actually paid yet), but at the original value, and not the higher price I'd have to pay on eBay to get those items again.

Yes, we'll be renting until close. :-)
