I read in Seventeen when I was oh, probably seventeen, that one should not soak before shaving, but should shave within 5 minutes of getting into the shower/bath to avoid letting your skin get puffy.

On another note completely-- when I was 21 I was shaving under my arm, the water turned cold instantly for some reason, I flinched, and nicked my NIPPLE! I swear I wasn't shaving my boob--I was just scared for my life over cold as sin water!

I read when I was younger (probably in Seventeen as well, my older sister had a subscription!) that it's best to shave at night, allowing for a closer, smoother shave. I usually take my long baths at night for shaving, and it's worked well for me. The last two times, I took baths in the afternoon and I cut myself - connection?!

But OMG, I cannot imagine the pain of nicking a nipple! Eeek!
