A midshipman was on duty as the three of them-Sparrow, Groves, and Kennedy- came on board the Euryalus. He greeted the men and asked how he could be of help.

"We're here to see Dr. Maturin. Please inform him that we're here."

The midshipman nodded, saluted him, and went to knock on Dr. Maturin's door.

The door had opened to a very strange scene. Maturin was bent over a carefully opened rather dry looking penguin, and was in the process of removing its internal organs. He sighed a little at the news, wiping his face with a rag.

"Inform them that I shall be up to see them in a very short while. I am not dressed properly for the occasion, as you see." Maturin waved vaguely at his bloody apron. "You will explain this to them, will you not? Thank you. No, no, leave me be. I will be up quick as-- quick as kiss my hand. I was not aware, that is all."

Maturin changed into a rusty black coat and a slightly less splotched black waistcoat, dashed water on his face, cut himself while shaving, and had started a debate with himself as to what to do with his penguin when he was cruelly cut off by the little midshipman, who heaved him bodily up on deck.

Groves felt slightly embarrassed for meeting Dr. Maturin in an environment that he should have been wearing his uniform, which he should probably remove from his cabin before they set sail. He steps forward and extends his hand. "Dr. Maturin, Lieutenant Groves of the Indefatigable. It's an honor."

He coughs slightly; he can't just leave it like that. "This is Lieutenant Kennedy, and Captain Sparrow. I believe you've already met..? We're here to ask your oppinion on a private matter concerning the mysterious ship, and to give you any information we have found out about said ship. If you please."

"Oh I see," said Maturin, folding his arms. "Then perhaps you can give me your information somewhere more private. I believe Captain Aubrey would not object to us using his cabin."

"There is also a health matter to attend to, Dr. There's a particular cut I would like for you to examine. So if we are going to the Captain's cabin, you might need some tools.. or gloves." Groves feels a bit awkward telling the doctor what to do, but he does need Maturin to look at his chest, and he doesn't want to get the doctor infected.
