Gillette is waiting on tenterhooks to hear if there is anything Sparrow knows to save Groves - he'll take Sparrow's help in a cause like that - when the tense silence inside the cabin is broken by a smart rap at the door

Oh, of all things that could happen now. He glares in consternation at the top of Sparrow's hat, which is all he can see of him behind Captain Aubrey and Lieutenant Buckland. He is relieved that Andrew will at least be civil, but he hadn't thought the man's patience would be tried so soon. Captain Jack Sparrow has awful timing.
"Captains, Lieutenant. Welcome aboard." Formality has him greeting all three, when he would really wish to ignore Sparrow completely. He ignored it when Sparrow and himself were on the damaged ship hours ago, but now he has now escape from the image of Andrew with a knife to his throat and the feeling of chapped lips and coarse beard. His eyes darken as he shakes the thoughts from his head, focusing most of his attention on the real Andrew in front of him, sparing the rest for the new arrivals. But just barely.

Sparrow heard Lt. Groves' welcome and slipped past Lt. Buckland and Capt. Aubrey. The pirate's impatience had overwhelmed him...enough pussy footin' around, ya heartless bastards, he thought to himself as he entered Norrington's cabin. "Gentlemen...such sober faces. You're lookin' quite well, Mr. Groves...considerin'...", Sparrow said with a smirk.
Yes, go ahead, rub it in! Why don't we all have a good laugh over the fact that Theo is going to... Is going to...
It's not a good start. Gillette finds himself already rigid with anger, breathing hard and fighting the desire for a re-match of the brawl in the ward room, and he wonders how much of it is due to events in the Caribbean, and how much is just plain jealousy.
This is going to be so much more humiliating than apologising to Edrington. He flexes his knotted shoulders, eases his hands out of their fists, and says "Captain Sparrow. Welcome to the discussion. We were hoping you would join us."
