Some thoughts on love..

I've been trying to get this journal off the ground with my thoughts. I've been reading others and finding that some of what they say actually make sense to me. Love is different for everyone, but definately not something to give up on.

I treat love like an art, to be cherished and practiced as often as possible. It comes in many different forms, but its always worth knowing.

Too many people treat love like a commodity. Loving someone based on an exchange of value... is his money and attitude worth my looks and status or whatever. That's bullshit and anything but true love.

I agree with you. Love is different for everyone and often isn't valued as precious as it should be. Most people that I've come in contact with see love as something to take up time. They don't want to be alone at night or just be alone, so they go out, looking for someone to take care of them. It has nothing to do with the feelings behind the potential relationship. So then, what? They see love more like a chore.

I don't give my heart away with the first date. It takes time for me to trust and with trust comes respect. With respect, I might start to like. It takes a long time for me to get to the point where I can say that "I love you". Like you, I cherish it. I don't practice it as much. Guys usually don't have the patience to tolerate me long enough for me to "love" them! Oh well...
