Thursday ... the day that I got myself accquainted with the concept of queueing. You think you've seen a queue? You haven't. Not a real queue!
Mam and I left Leeds on the 12:18 train, which got us into Blackpool about half two. Around four, we reached the B&B, which was about three miles away from the train station. The pair of us, goons that we are, had dragged my suitcase all the way there, assuring ourselves that it'll be "just around the corner!" every time we approached a new corner ...
I checked into the B&B, which was nice enough, did the job! Got something to eat, met up with Gail, was informed that I couldn't use the toilet in my bathroom until the next day due to it leaking into the kitchen ... oh-so-hygenic!
And then the queueing began. The reg desk didn't open until 6pm, but we were there at 5:30 and the queue was already ... well, MASSIVE! So because it didn't open until 6pm, I was stuck in a non-moving queue in front of two really annoying Scottish girls for a long time! When the damn thing finally started moving, it moved very slowly, but at least it was movement. I finally got registered about 7:15pm and got into another queue for tickets for my photo sessions on Friday. By 8:15pm, I'd bought my tickets for photos with Julie & Juliet, Stephanie, J and Clare, and gotten into yet *another* queue to get autographs from Clare and Nicole Bilderback.
I got into the Clare & Nicole room just after 9pm and bought a photo for both girls to sign. Sean Harry (con organiser) was acting as guest liason for both girls at the time, and when he passed my photo onto Nicole, he told her that it was "Rachael with an 'a', like Rachael Leigh Cook." Nicole replied "Does Rachael spell hers like that?" And then signed my pic, and got into a discussion with Sean about Rachael's becoming slightly less sought-after in Hollywood these days!
I then met Clare, who was a doll, really pretty and really giggly, and willing to chat! Finally leaving that room (and my final queue for the night!) I headed back out to the lobby, planning to find either the stewards table, or walk back to the B&B.
I ended up on the cityofangel.com pub crawl with Gail, Tanya, Corina and Karen, meeting up with the other CoAers in the next pub (although I didn't get to introduce myself to any of them until Friday, so they probably thought I was a serious hanger on!).
And then about eleven-thirtyish, we headed back to the B&B, where I got out everything I was going to need for Friday, called Mam, and put the TV on. Which was all shite.
