Your friend, her name was Ziva, was it not? I had heard she left as well. I only spoke with her once or twice myself.

I am sorry for your loss, Neil, and I thank you. I miss him.

They were our friends. They brought warmth and familiarity to this place. It is lonelier without them.

I'm sorry your friend is gone. I can't remember if I knew him or not.

Perhaps? He was soft spoken and kept to himself, and not outwardly social otherwise.

Thank you.

I never met David, I don't think. But I'm sorry to hear that he's gone.

I am learning that most did not have the distinct pleasure of meeting him. A pity.

I am grateful still for what remains.

It's disconcerting and not a little vexing to have been here over a month and still not have at least a passing acquaintance with everyone in such a small community.

What sort of person was he? Is he, I suppose; I expect he still carries on, somewhere.

We tend to stay with our familiars, though I suppose when time is endless there is less urgency to mingle.

Quiet, intellectual, and prone to nervous fits. He was pleasant though, and kind, and very patient when it came to my incessant barrage of questions. He helped to keep me calm through my first disaster here.
