Spring is officially here at last! Hopefully, we can leave behind the frigid rain and clouds of last week and start moving into some warmer weather. Overall, life has been going pretty well these past couple of weeks. There have been some times recently when I've been feeling sort of down, for reasons I don't entirely understand, but people have

1) College-Bound...woo-hoo! Enjoy the years and pray God guides you through them. Be prepared to fight for your faith, though. Bishop Sheen in the 1970's advised parents to send their children to non-Catholic colleges vs. Catholic ones. That way, the students would have to fight for their faith instead of having it stolen from them. I pray your experiences will not involve stolen faith, and I pray that for your motley crew of friends.

2) LAETARE! Did your priest wear pink? Mine did! I have always seen priests in pink on this day, and so am surprised when I hear otherwise.
3) Refurnishing a ciborium...Do you do chalices, patens, and consecration bells? Let me know!

I'm not a stalker, honest :p Just looking for some solid, orthodox Catholics out there on LJ.
Would you mind if I added you to my friends list? You are, of course, more than welcome to add me in return if interested :)
If you like, feel free to check out my community, too ->pax_et_caritas.<- I hope it helps as a place of edification here in the LJ world :)

Andy,
Yes, the priest wore light rose vestments.
Luckily, my parish usually takes very good care of things, so I don't have much to do as far as refurbishing. There's a bunch of nice ceboria kept in the safe, all still in fine condition. I don't know how the one I found got left out. Our former pastor didn't bother with consecration bells, so after he left it took me several weeks to find where he had stashed them away. Unfortunately, one of the bells was severely cracked, so we ended up just buying a new set.
Anne,
Thanks for the link to your community. I've looked through some of the past posts, and it all looks very nice. I'll keep it in mind as one of my places to check in on when I'm online. I'm adding you to my friends list; feel free to add me if you want. God bless!
