In a corner of the library, Vera sits mending one of Alexis' shirts -- or so it would appear. In reality, she is stitching a small knife in place under the back of the collar. Slung over the back of her chair is one of her plain black dresses, mended many times, with similar alterations made. It is important to stay safe -- safe, and dangerous.

Linden would agree utterly, considering the sword concealed in his walking cane, upon which he is leaning when he comes into the library. Catching sight of her, and remembering that he met her at one point under less comfortable circumstances, he smiles a welcome. "Madam."

Vera smiles back -- a rather rare gesture, but she remembers Linden, and remembers liking him. "Hello," she says. "It's been some time, hasn't it?"
