Looking for new moisturizer

Oil of Olay (sensitive skin + spf 15) is the facial moisturizer I've been using for a few years now, and while it's been the most satisfying thing I've tried on my face so far, it's still pretty disappointing.  I've also recently reviewed the ingredients and realized there are some things in there that I had thought there werent (maybe they were ( Read more... )

I use something from Lush that's SPF 20, but I haven't actually found an equivalent outside of Japan.

If you want really basic, try evening primrose oil and/or vitamin E. I have caplets that I would break open and mix together before I found out about Lush, and it made my skin really soft. I could only use it at night since oil absorbs slowly into my skin, but in the morning my skin felt great. I don't know if you would count that as OCM, but I didn't really do anything besides leave it on overnight.

I just use jojoba oil mixed with shea butter. It isn't a sunblock, though. For that, I wear a hat :)

I love jojoba oil as a moisturiser, and I use a little bamboo fleece wipe to apply it evenly to my skin. I'm 21 and acne prone, and I don't feel like the jojoba oil makes me break out. It feels very light. Sometimes I use straight up vitamin E oil, as I am also very prone to post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, but I find it makes me break out.

I use unrefined Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (EVCO) as a moisturizer. I firmly believe that "if it's not safe enough to eat, it does not belong on my skin." All my personal care products are both natural and edible. I do not like chemical based products. You can buy EVCO at any health food store. It smells delicious too.

I've also experimented with avocado, grape seed, and almond oils. Grape seed oil is excellent for acne prone skin. It is very light and non greasy.
