Okay, for a long time now I've been cruelty-free with healthcare items like shampoos etc., but I used regular anti-perspirant deodarant as did my husband. He also used regular bar soap, like Irish Spring. We've been in the process of turning all products in the house green and have discovered that cruelty-free deodarants do not do what the others ( Read more... )

The Dr. Bronner's bar soaps work pretty well.

I really like Kiss My Face Liquid Rock deodorants. They work really well, but I think I'm sensitive to something in them because I broke out in eczema soon after trying them.

Have you tried deoderant stones? I've found them to be very effective.

I have exclusively used the deoderant stone for ~4 years, and I am a dancer and live in a nice warm climate and sweat a lot. It takes a little while to get used to the deoderant stone, but it's worth it in the end.

Toms of Maine didn’t make me stink, but it is the only things I’ve ever had an allergic reaction to! I was also trying to switch to “cruelty free” stuff. After the Toms of Maine stuff, I tried to switch back to Arm & Hammer (which is what I’d used for a few years) and THAT gave me an allergic reaction! I was so broken out and sad in my armpits that I ended up wearing nothing for 6 months and then I switched to the crystal deodorants for a while (another year or two… I’m losing my memory on the exact length of time). I found the crystal deodorants were ok. They were not the bestest thing I’d ever used, but they were pretty good. They are NOT antiperspirants, though, so expect to sweat as much as if you’re wearing no deodorant ( ... )

Without a doubt, the best all natural deodorant is Alvera's Aloe and Almonds. I know it was difficult for me to find, but there is a phone number on the back if you're interested. I've used them all and this one
always comes through for me!
