Raw dog food

I checked the tags, and there were a lot of comments in posts about a raw dog comm that no longer exists. I'm looking for recipes, and general guidance. Anyone have any recommendations for me? Websites preferred, but books are good too. My preference is to keep cost down by mixing our own, but recommendations for raw food I can purchase are ( Read more... )

I have done my research and continue read up on this topic and every time I talk with a vet I get much of the same response. Surprisingly, they all fall back on "these kibble companies have decades of science behind them."

Dr. Karen Becker is a 5 stars or more holistic veterinarian that will give you the real scoop about the horrors of commercial pet food. I've listed the video series here. They're not too long and will probably answer all your questions. Please give them a try. Over the years I simply have learned to go to her web site first. She tells the truth about the nightmares of the pet food industry and what your dog or cat really needs. You will probably get a lot more info than you want in these videos, but it's well worth your time. You will be able to forge ahead in confidence in creating a superior real food diet for your dog. Basically, she breaks it down to high quality protein, fats, and a small amount of veggies. I don't think she's a fan of grains at all...
