Today I went to the Less Is More Festival, an event I only found out about a few days ago via Facebook. Thanks for posting this! I use Weleda toothpaste and crystal deodorant but the DIY options sounds good and, like you, I have the most the ingredients.

Corn flour is cornstarch to some people... corn meal is a corse grain, so not used for that! lol

I'm pretty sure cornflour in Australia is what's called cornstarch in the U.S.

Cornmeal is generally called polenta. I can't see that stuff being any good in any skin care product. :)

I never never never understand when people say you should use bicarb and vinegar together. How do you make a paste from it? Doesn't the vinegar just fizzle away? Couldn't you just make a paste of water and bicarb and get essentially the same result (since the bicarb neutralizes the vinegar anyway)? I cannot seem to get unbaffled on this subject.

It does make a paste. You just use lots of baking powder and not much vinegar. Even when it's more liquid it's still milky from the carb soda.

Hm. So would you put on the bicarb, and then add some vinegar?

Thanks for this post, nice info! I'd love to find an event like that hosted here too ;)
I love carb soda and lemon juice for my stove top and negected parts of my counter... it seems powerful with the reaction, ha
