i second this. i also find having something in your pocket you can hold tightly to (without hurting yourself, even if it's a quarter or something) helps.

Sunshine and being outdoors definitely helps too! And I love tea!

I recall reading something some time back that was talking about how even the simple act of looking at natural stimuli (such as leaves, water, clouds) produces a measurable relaxing effect on a person...it totally makes sense too...it's why I like to look out the window, and always put nature scenes as the background on my computer.

Thanks; I will add this to the page when I next work on it!

I was hospitalized twice (a couple weeks at a time) earlier this year for anxiety and panic disorder. After wards I had to attend intensive outpatient therapy everyday for a couple months, so I've learned a lot of coping skills along the way.
My saving grace has been aromatherapy. Everyday I wear an aromatherapy necklace, its a dragon fly that opens up and you keep small aromatherapy soaked sponges in. This is mainly what keeps me sane.

SWIMMING. god, this does me wonders, clears my head, relaxes my muscles, just pulls everything into alignment so, so gently.

Oh man, I miss swimming...I used to be really into it and then stopped because the chlorine in most pools was really getting to me. But I love swimming in rivers, lakes, and the ocean, I don't do it enough.

That is also another great idea to add. Thank you!

a lot of places are starting to use saline instead of chlorine. It's great.
And another plus for swimming is that you can scream underwater at the top of your lungs and, provided nobody else is in the water at the time, no one can hear you!

I've heard about skullcap for anxiety, but hadn't heard about the other two for this purpose; I know about the uses of oat grass and nettle to balance hormone levels. I need to do more research on these plants in relation to anxiety though. That's good to know. I will add this to my list of plants to research some time in the future! I did a quick search on google scholar and it seems like there's actually some evidence backing up the use of oat grass for anxiety, and references that establish that it has been used this way traditionally too.

=)

Thanks!

I swear by Tisserand De-stress aromatherapy roll-on. I can feel it calming me down instantly.
