Holistic Dentistry/Teeth Remineralising

I've read alot about teeth remineralising using tooth soap and eating/avoiding certain foods but I'm a little reluctant to jump into it without having someone who actually knows something about dentistry helping me along and just monitoring to make sure I don't stuff my teeth up! I started looking up holistic dentists in my area because I thought ( Read more... )

Thanks, that's good to know. I haven't been to the dentist for a couple of years and it was the only times I've been as an adult. He was kinda just interested in just patching them up and telling me to floss, that was about it :P

I'm no dentist, but I use Coconut Oil to brush my teeth. It kills the plaque bacteria. And since it is an alkalizing oil it helps balance the pH in your mouth, making it easier for vitamins like calcium and magnesium to remain on your little teeth instead of being leached out by the acids you may consume. I have genetically weak teeth and since starting both brushing and rinsing with coconut oil, I have noticed a quite significant difference. I can drink really cold things without wincing, and sweet things don't make me want to rip my molars out. Not only that, but it has made my teeth crazy white. My fiance has noticed a difference, and at work I get constant comments and questions about my extraordinarily white smile. I hope this helps!

Various websites and books on holistic practices. I read into this stuff lots [= I want to say there may be a post in memories somewhere about alternate tooth care with some more coconut oil info.

I am in the province of Quebec, Canada, and usually dentists that call themselves holistic around here mostly care about getting the mercury fillings out and replacing them...

You should read the book 'Cure Tooth Decay' by Ramiel Nagel. It is holistic and talks about how you can change your diet to help remineralise your teeth. It is an excellent book and is written by a holistic dentist. I highly recommend it.
