I handle it this way: Once I have had a plastic bag come in contact with meat, it graduates from food use to non-food utility use. (Yes, over time this means I have to buy some new bags, but they do get worn out over time, anyway.)

In general, I am getting concerned about the chemicals plastics may transfer into foods, and so I have been looking for ways to swap to glass jars when possible. As pointed out by the OP, sometimes this is really difficult. I'm still using plastic bags for freezing food.

reusable bags? I've seen the type that are cloth with a snap closure, but lined inside with a waterproof plastic- like material on etsy. I think its water resistant nylon, or something like that. Google 'reusable sandwich bags'. Or if you're good with a sewing machine, you could make them yourself.

the sandwhich bags are too small and impracticle for the pizza slices we make or the pita bread we buy as examples.

Can you sew? Or perhaps some etsy sellers make customs, and you can send them measurements.

Another idea is to use small glass containers with lids for meat in the freezer. I have little round pyrex dishes with lids that I use all the time.

you can make bags out of oil cloth that is easily found at most large fabric stores. bonus is that you can get off cuts and end of bolts for really cheap, and if you want to make them double sided, you can do that easily. to clean, you can, i believe, throw them in the washing machine or soak in hot water with vinegar and air dry- no heat in the dryer or it cracks the coating on the fabric. you can put all sorts of things in these- my mom has been using them for sandwiches since she is on a rather strict diet that she is finally sticking to, and to keep things like pitas, tortillas, and all sorts of other things in. she has a bento box, and has made several little pouches like that with zippers and snaps and other closures or has put in ziploc bags- we both find the freezer bags wash and dry the best for multiple uses- in them to carry dips in or other things that need to keep cold by making it a double layer and putting a frozen juice box in the outside pouch.

hope that helps.

does it have to be a bag?
I just use pyrex containers, which come in different shapes/sizes. I have a rectangular one which is great for pizza and larger items.
I've re-used tortilla bags and bread bags, as well.

well i want to fit it in the side of my bento carrier and a pyrex won't do that.
