I work at an office and drink coffee there. I don't drink a whole lot of coffee there, not even a cup a day, but I do drink it (especially on Saturday mornings ( Read more... )

I had the same problem and just started bringing in my own milk for my coffee (or teas). I just put a little bit in a small salad dressing container and that always seem to do the trick.

or if you are really brave, stop buy the local Starbucks, fill a tiny bit of milk in your travel cup and take to the office. Fresh milk (and for free!). I have done that a few times when I was in dire need of milk but had no monies.

I was going to suggest sweetened condensed milk. It definitely lasts longer than regular milk (though I'm not sure how long exactly) and you can get it organic at Whole Foods and sometimes Trader Joe's. That's what my fiance uses.

Back when I took cream in my coffee (weaned myself to black, no sugar) I took sweetened condensed milk to work for my coffee. Then others tried it, and it got mildly ridiculous how many people used my milk, and complained to me when it was gone, for their coffee, but never offered to buy or bring any themselves. :)

So, this, but be warned.

This.

I only buy pints of half and half, since i live alone and only use it for my coffee. I usually make it through the whole pint before it goes bad--half and half seems to have a longer shelf life in the fridge, which is nice.

Of course my cat gets a splash of it every morning (really bad habit he picked up as a starving little rescue kitty) so that helps go through it too.

The organic, ultra-pasteurized dairy I buy lasts way, way longer than 7 to 10 days.

Way longer. Close to a month. And it can be bought in quarts.

Agreed.

This is the main reason I only buy 1/2 gallons and only 1 particular brand - around here, Organic Valley is the only ultra-pasteurized brand, and only their 1/2 gallons are ultra-pasteurized. I think the 1/2 gallon I bought over the weekend is dated for the 23 or so of December.
