I used to work in a shoe store (The Walking Company)that used to sell MBTs. And yes they are pricey, but they have HUGE benefits. The foot is not used to walking on such flat, hard surfaces, so the MBT changes the way a person walks usually leading to people being uncomfortable AT FIRST. But, we had people who had been buying MBTs for yeaaarrs and will not wear any other shoe now.

I mean you could always suggest custom orthodics(equally as expensive, but she could put it in any shoe she decided to wear.

Honestly, you have to take care of your feet before hand so that these things do not occur and you end up spending A LOT of money. Look at all the shit we put our feet through everyday (and sometimes more literally). I hope you find something out to help your friend, good luck!

this is really interesting, I have shortened achillies and am waiting on lenghtening surgery. I have tried orthodics for quite some time without alot of benefit. Wearing high heels helps.

Good luck to you. I had that surgery and it helped me out a lot. Be warned, it is not very comfortable and you will not be able to put weight on you foot for quite a while.

I dealt with PF for years and nothing helped me out. Tried, PT, custom orthotics, foot taping, rolling it out with various balls, massage, and even a night splint. It was so bad in both feet, there were times I would be crawling into my house in tears ( ... )

my mom had to get steroid shots for that. it went away after a few months, but it was very painful for her.
