Allow me to introduce myself

Hello, I'm Winnie. My partner and I have been watching the economic crisis for a long while now, and we had decided it was time to start making arrangements in case something happened to necessitate living off grid for a while. So we've been doing a lot of research and I thought I would share some of the better sites we've found along the way ( Read more... )

Thanks for the info. We've been doing the same kind of thing. I really like your user icon. That makes me smile.

Cool! That article was really interesting (7 mistakes of food storage). Thanks for sharing.

One thing David came up with was storing instant gravy packets. Just add hot water and the meal will be more palatable.

Hey, thanks for the Backwoods Mag cite. I had never seen that one. I really dislike most of the mags - not much useful, too much rah-rah to get people "motivated" to do the really, really basic first steps, too many adds for the products of trendoid "natural living," etc. There look to be some really good articles on that site.

I don't have a lot to add. Right now we're working on our own research on a coming solar conversion, and some other things... I sure will post when we come to some conclusions about best bets, though!

My husband showed me this once. $75, and it's 275 meals.

Might be worth keeping one around. :)

I don't know how "naturalliving" they are, but being vitamin fortified and vegetarian is nice! :)
