If you haven't already, DEFINITELY try posting a request like this to Freecycle. I often find people giving away clothing they can no longer wear or no longer wish to wear. I know entire families who clothe themselves via Freecycle, and a lot of the clothes you find on Freecycle are in excellent condition and are still "in-style," so it's not all thrift store rejects. :)

Congratulations on your weight loss and journey towards better health! I can definitely understand not wanting to run out and buy new clothes just yet. :)

i second the 'freecycle' idea. there is also a FREE thread on craigslist =)
i personally only shop at goodwill, b/c in my area, it's like going to every mall in the country, crammed into one building....

congrats on the weightloss ~

Our goodwill is like second-hand walmart & target. They actually get things from target, post-clearance, and charge higher than the last clearance price would have been. :/

Free cycle is a great idea! Really! E bay is also a wonderful place to find unique clothing for affordable prices- it's just waiting AND bidding are the only catches.
I agree with seeing clothes in person, I've had a few experiences ordering clothes. It's hard to "try" them on, ONline.

Outside of thrifts and goodwills, I've always had good hits at Old Navy. Not quite eco-friendly, but most of their clothes are cotton, linen, and decent synthetics. I hover around the same size-range as you and their clothes fit well, last a decent span of time, and on clearance, come with EXCELLENT prices. My size is also changing, so I've put off buying truly eco-friendly, organic, etc clothes until I *know* they'll last me a very long time.

seeing we are in the same city, have you been to Ecowise? They have stuff on sale sometimes.

Congrats on the weight loss! I am also in need of new clothes soon. Yay shrinking!
