Earth Sheltered Houses

I intend on building an earth sheltered home in the next 5 years and would love to hear about other peoples experiences, what they love and what they'd change?  Contracter stories and ways to increase the off grid sustainability?

We looked into earth sheltered/earth bermed homes and did quite a lot of research and while they are generally incredibly energy efficient here are some downside considerations
