baby sign language

What is the "best" book on teaching babies/toddlers sign language? Instructional-type, not research or theory.

Thanks in advance!

parenting, books/movies/podcasts, infants/toddlers/children

Baby sign isn't the same as sign language, though it's based on ASL.

Wasn't sure if you were confused, but I wanted to clarify since your subject header and message say sort of different things.

there is a book / tape called just Baby Sign which I really liked. But as aligatorandme said they are not really the same. if you don't want to continue it past the first few years the Baby Sign book should work just fine.

I teach my baby (11 months) ASL. She does what she can to mimic and that works for us. I don't use modified signs to begin with, so any ASL dictionary would be ideal.

The one I have is mostly based of ASL, I believe it's called "Sign with your baby" by Joseph Garcia.

I didn't go with "Baby Signs" because it wasn't based on ASL.
