Wow, this guy is awesome! The recreations of the 8 and 16-bit sounds is uncanny! His headgear is also awesome. :-)
I looked up some more videos of him after you posted this. Have you seen this one? It's him doing a medley of the boss themes from FF4/5/6. Pretty damn impressive! I like how he uses the pitch wheel at the beginning of X-Death's theme. Somehow, because he uses the original sounds and only his own two hands, there's something kind of oddly "organic" about it, you know what I mean?
Anyway, if I was in Tokyo, I'd definitely check him out!
You should listen to a group called "Pornophonique." It's a German band comprised of two men. One plays the guitar and sings. The other plays a Game Boy for that classic 8-bit sound.
Hi there! I'm in need of a tiny bit of help with spoken Japanese for a short play I'm directing this month, and my lovely friend Kyra directed me to you. It involves three words being repeated throughout (Shikkyaku! Tasukete! Tomete!). What I need is some pronunciation help for my actor -- the author provided phonetic spellings, but I know cadence is just as important with Japanese as pronunciation, so I'd like to do this right. Any help you could provide would be awesome. I can be emailed at timidfrieda AT gmail DOT com or you can catch me through LJ, either way. Thank you so, so very much!
