I guess it's because, in general, I am looking for a great romance. :/

And it's certainly not romance! It's a different sort of thing, and I can understand you stopping and starting this one. It's a slower read, which is not everyone's cup of tea. I got a different sort of satisfaction out of it than I would a typical H/D romance. :)
