Scarlet Fever

I feel like a character in a Victorian drama: I have scarlet fever. I had strep for the last ten days, and yesterday I developed a horrible rash. By morning, at leat 50% of my skin was covered in red, raised spots, each of which felt like a red ant sting. UGH. I went to the doctor and got an adrenalin shot, and a handful of anti-itch meds and ( Read more... )

I hope you get better quickly, but thoroughly!

I can see what you mean about the background and main pirate fighting for attention. I do still like it, though, because I'm a spaz at art and anybody who's able to paint in 3-D astounds me. She also seems quite un-self-conscious pointing off in the distance when it seems nobody's paying attention to her except the painter. :P Certainly not the men on the ship!

Oh geesh! You're a walking train wreck!! I hope you get better soon! Really soon!!

Honestly, I love this piece. I love the strong, bold colors, and especially the fine gold details on the pirate. Love it!! They may both be strong (the background and the pirate), but I think it works, the pirate seems a tad stronger too. The only thing that is a little weird to me is that the ship doesn't seem to be on any water, unless the water is also the sky? :o) I woulda been happier with a little break between water and sky. Otherwise, I can't say there is anything else I would suggest changing. I love the highlights, they're awesome. The shadows awesome, the details awesome... maybe a little more 'wear' on the ship, because it looks like a brand-spanking-new ship, but it's still awesome!

You're awesome. :)

Are you sure the rash is from the strep and not from the antibiotics? When Cherry and Celia had scarlet fever they didn't complain of itching. (Cherry swears she didn't REALLY think she was going to die, but she HAD just read Little Women and looked very worried until she went to the doctor and was told it was treatable.) I am allergic to Augmentin, and my symptom is that it makes me itch terribly. You could have the doctor switch you to another antibiotic if you still have many days left on your course.

OK, through playing doctor. I hope you feel better soon. I always do my Christmas shopping online. I highly recommend it.

Hmmm, well, the one med I found I was allergic to was an antibiotic (amoxicillin) and it caused me to break out in a rash after a week or so on it--but no itching!

Scarlet Fever! That really does sound archaic! I hope it heads back to the past in a hurry and you're over it Very Soon!!!
