Just Stuff

I broke all of my rules and have six paintings going on right now, in various stages. I have a hard time finishing art, so I've always (well, since college, anyway) forced myself not to start a new painting until the last one was finished (with the exception of a couple overly large paintings). I must not allow myself to start another until I've ( Read more... )

Ooooh! I LOVE the TamLin piece. Just glancing at it, I thought it was a Charles Vess painting at first (but better!!!). ^___^

Your other pieces look good to me. Maybe you ARE going through a depression (maybe just a little one!). Heheh... I think my work is crap all the time. It seems to be a normal feeling for me. I just have to watch my mouth when talking to Art Directors! (Yeah--it's all FABULOUS!!!) *___*

I really like all of them too--I love the expressions on the faces, and the clothes are very realistic (especially on the dragon girl). I like how the poses of the girl and dragon echo each other.

I'm currently frustrated with how much time school takes, even though I'm not the one teaching the kids. Between getting everyone ready in the morning, driving people around, and then homework when they get back, there's no time to do anything fun with them. But Quinlan loves legos too! Though I don't think he's tried anything with motors yet--I'll keep my eyes open for Mindstorms for you on sale--Smiths here sometimes has things marked down to 60% off after Christmas if you're patient, and that one showed up last year. Of course, by then Tad would probably be tired of them.

Try getting Quinlan the book "Forbidden Lego: Build the Models Your Parents Warned you Against!" by Ulrik Pilegaard and Mike Dooley. It's a nice thick instruction book full of things like paper plane launchers, catapults, and an all-terrain truck suspension. The great thing is that besides just giving the directions, there's a page on each design explaining the hows and whys of designing it--goes into physics at a child's level!

Quick, lay me down and get out the fans...this is way more than WOW!

I leave for a few weeks to see the first grandchild, Lily Anna- the fairy child and you have a work explosion.

Sign me up for the Tam Lin. I have to have that one too. I guess we take down some of the other artworks and give you a bigger wall...lol.

Hugs
Tessa
