Told by the Tea!

I'm a big fan of several of the Ayurvedic blends of Yogi Tea. The boxes feature very basic Yoga moves (which I still can't do thanks to the joys of my back and right leg) and tell you something like "The essence of this tea is comfort and abundance" and every tea bag has a tag which features a "bon mot ( Read more... )

I love the conjunction of the Yogi tea and the Bruce Banner feels. I'm imagining him taking the bon mots for his way of dealing with the inner Hulk on any given day. Or discovering that Tony has stolen the whole box for some scientific reason (I don't know - he needed liquorice root in a hurray or something) and having to explain why he needs them and then Tony getting him some really authentic thing flown in from overseas to say sorry... *g*

I'm imagining him taking the bon mots for his way of dealing with the inner Hulk on any given day. Exactly! I mean the spice/herb blends have their Ayurvedic qualities of calming, energising, whatever (and seriously - I don't drink every blend, but some of them taste fantastic) but every teabag is in it's own sealed paper pouch (paper's recycleable, and teabags are compost, so I don't feel *too* guilty) so the bon mot is a surprise ( ... )

I love this - Bruce trying to look after Tony's health and reading him the bon mots to - I imagine - variable reactions.

And opening all the pouches to find a really nice one if Bruce is having a bad day?
Yes! That is such a charming image! Heh, and now I'm imagining Tony handing over 'I am beautiful. I am bountiful. I am blissful' to Bruce just to see the reaction *g* Arguably there is a 'bountiful' amount of Hulk, after all.

I usually drink Pukka herbal teas, but I meant need to try these (I've seen them in my local shop) just for the bon mots!

Glad you don't think I'm nuts for the talking with tea idea. I can see them having conversations about what "My heart is nothing but the home of god" means in Eastern Philosophy as opposed to Western tradition/Judeo-Christian-Islamic monotheism (a bit like how Einstein could say, "I refuse to believe that god plays dice with the world" without it being a statement of *religion* while it obviously is still a statement of faith), or the equally "Eastern" idea that "A simple life will make you carefree" as opposed to owning ALL the things ever. :D ( ... )

I'm a fervent tea drinker, in that I drink tea multiple times a day and try all kinds of brands and blends, but also can't really discourse on tea. I have a hard time distinguishing notes in smells and tastes (like is this floral or citrus or is it x or x) so I just usually stick with, I like this or I don't like this. But I love reading about tea from other people who are able to describe teas beautifully. Discussion of tea, scenes with people making or taking tea, etc. is definitely one of my favorite aesthetics ( ... )

I'm anosmic (no sense of smell) because I had to have several operations on my nose when I was 12 and 13. I once pointed out on a writing community that the perennial advice to "Use all five senses in your writing!" is actually ablist because it excludes any writer who is missing a sense, as I am. (And if I have to be missing a sense, I'd rather smell than sight or hearing or touch.) What are you supposed to do if you only know coffee has a smell because you've been *told* so? I remember some scents from my childhood - like the smell of hot, fresh bread at the bakers - but if I write about smells, I'm making assumptions. So my ability to write about notes in taste or smell? *Severely* limited.

So this definitely hits a lot of wonderful points for me and then you went and added Tony/Bruce. Ah! I love all of the scenarios and sayings presented as possibilities in ( ... )
