A holiday with Salmiakki / サルミうめえ

Dec 23, 2010 13:39

We don't have a custom of Christmas holidays in Japan. But today, December 23rd is a public holiday in Japan because of The Emperor's Birthday.

Anyway, I have a great joy with a great sisu package from a sisu girl in Finland. Let me show you that.

What a nice package to receive! :D Everything looks great. And the Moomins!! That reminds me so much of my childhood... I loved that series &hearts

By the way, natsmina, I have wanted to send you a Christmas package, but due to real life issues, I think it's going to arrive a bit late >__<. ごめんなさい!

I also have memories of childhood with moomin. I watched Anime and read the books.

>I have wanted to send you a Christmas package
Oh, really? I'm happy to hear that~! You can take your time, Japanese actually have a custom of sending new year greeting cards called nengajo(年賀状). We get used to exchange them rather than a Christmas card ^^

I forgot to ask something I wanted to hear.
My card for you has arrived in Spain? I hope you've already got it without accident.

Moomins! Oh my, that reminds me about two students in my group who were singing quietly the Polish opening during one of the lectures. X"D

That pillow case is utterly cute! Hahaha, Sweden. XDDDD
Also, that movie with Japanese eating salmiakki - wins! >▽

Hahaha, the Polish opening sounds hilarious! Pahpapapapa♪ mahmamamama~♪ I imagined the students were singing this part under their breath, and couldn't help but giggle. Ihihihi~~.
The Japanese opening is here.

> I've never thought about trying it with cream cheese.
Which kind of way do you take when you have lingonberry jam? With meat or bread?

Oh my, what have I just watched?! XDD That song is... is... so bringing out the brain! XDDD Ihihihi~~ XD

Duhh, I can't watch the Japanese opening, because it's blocked in my country. :< I tried to use hidemyass.com to watch it, but still it doesn't work. ;w; (But I could watch the ending and everyting I can say about it is... b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l! That song is just purely beautiful! *_* Awwww~♥)

I eat lingonberry jam with meat. :) Or with pancakes~

By the way, I think the custom of celebrating the birthday of Emperor is pretty nice! It musts make an unique bond between citizens and emperor. :)

Yeah, Francium is one of my favorite Miku's songs. This song is terribly crazy! But I like this point XD (Anyway, this song lyrics makes no sense at all. You mustn't try to learn Japanese from this song!! あの歌詞は日本語でも意味不明です)

>I can't watch the Japanese opening, because it's blocked in my country.
Oh, I'm sorry about that! I can imagine your feeling because I'm blocked by Funimation channel OTZ Aw, Hetalia denies mee ;w;

>I think the custom of celebrating the birthday of Emperor is pretty nice!
Oh, I didn't think about that! Because we Japanese have got too used to think the emperor's birthday as an important holiday. But, many countries have no emperor or king or queen today, so instead of doing it might look novel.

Yeah, that's the truth of the pillow case XDDD

>i-is it really that fearless?! TvT?!
Hmmm, I can't say it tasty positively because the taste of salmiakki isn't what Asian foods have. It's quite unique but I don't hate it. But I dislike natto many Japanese do like. I might have different taste for Japanese, I guess...

>that last picture with the cream cheese and the ligonberry jam looks so so goood
Yeah, definitely! It's like cheese cake with berry sauce<3

What a lovely package, I remember the moomins. They didn't have it as a cartoon on TV here, but we had it as a series of books and they were some of my favorite books as a child. That Gifu package is beautiful! hehe.

Oh is that so? Anime series are more popular than books in Japan. I guess Japan is truly a country of anime.
Yeah, Gifu also has cool taste because of xylitol. Hahaha.
