I am so scattered of late. I had intended to use this holiday weekend to catch up on some lj posting, but instead I slept, dejunked the house a bit, wrote thank you notes, and made waffles. I started to try out mint.com, but one of my credit unions isn't accessible, so I don't know that it would be any use to me ( Read more... )

Most of the post-EOT fic I've seen has the Doctor going, "Wow, I was a bit overwrought there, wasn't I?"

Thanks!

I've missed you on LJ.

I, too, have a pile of steampunk-y reading awaiting me, including THE ALCHEMY OF STONE, which I bought right when it came out. I also recently got SOULLESS along with BONESHAKER by Cherie Priest.

Thanks for missing me! I feel like much of lj discussion has moved, but I'm not sure where. I check Dreamwidth, but it doesn't seem to be there either. Perhaps my flist just isn't talkative of late.

Boneshaker, eh? I'll have to check it out.

It's been getting good reviews, I hear, but I didn't read them b/c I wanted to be unspoiled for it.

Presumably metempsychophobia is one of the things that can vary from regeneration to regeneration?

*wants to study Timelord psychology*
*worries about the hazards of a sufficiently large sample size*

Ah, a fan rationalization! Hmmm, perhaps so.

I think TimeLord psychology would be a fascinating field, particularly stages of maturity and how they are affected by regeneration. If you had access to a TARDIS, you could go back to Gallifrey in its heyday to study TimeLord psychology. Although I'm not sure how much of data gathered would apply to a rogue TimeLord suffering PTSD from collaterally killing exiling the other TimeLords in order to exterminate once and for all provide a real setback to the Daleks.

I do think that "they used to exist, but do not right now, and the times when they do exist are inaccessible" is a fair thing to describe as "dead" for brevity's sake. And we have spent the last four seasons watching the Doctor deal with the Daleks not being as dead/inaccessible as he thought.
