A Life on a Summer Breeze
Shrieks and laughter saturated the air, drifting on the breeze in through the open window. He looked out on the hordes of children playing in the park, packing forgotten for the time being and wondered what it felt like to have not a care in the world.
He watched games of tag being organised. He saw mothers gossiping and fathers pushing swings. Elaborate picnics with enough food to feed an army dotted the grass in their vibrant colours.
There wasn’t a face without a smile.
None of them knew about the monsters in the dark.
He wanted it so badly.
