Mini-Rant about Grammar

Geez. What is it with undergrads and their inability to use words properly (and their inability to write professional emails, the subject of a future rant)? I got an email today asking me about what Indian expats in Dubai do on "there day off" and whether "they enjoy there life in Dubai." lol..i was turned off by the misuse of too and to and there and their by an american guy i was dating. it disconcerted me...i wanted sooooo bad to correct him but English isnt even my first language..so there!

Spelling is really hard for some people, no matter how well read they are. I think it's funny, because it's so easy for me. I know some brilliant people who can't spell third-grade level words.

There's no excuse for getting your name wrong, though! Sheesh!

sadly, it's adults in the corporate world too who make this mistake all the time and never believe me when i discuss the difference between "its" and "it's"
