Vash is asking permission for gun usage :| neatly_shot May 18 2009, 01:51:25 UTC
After stepping into the kitchen quietly, Vash leaned against the wall a bit with his arms crossed. His expression probably looked more pinched than he meant for it to be, but he simply was not used to this. This... whole situation. Since when did Sophie invite men from work over to the house for dinner? It seemed very foreign.

Vash watched her go from place to place every once in awhile, glancing to the clock in recognition. She was nervous.

He felt the scowl on his lips and bunch of his eyebrows lighten up. " ... If you're worried about your food, I'm sure it'll be as good as it usually is."

Not in the apartment! sophie_vaduz May 18 2009, 02:02:41 UTC
Sophie examined her nails for a brief moment, trying to think of something to occupy her mind for a few seconds. Yes, they were clean. Ah, that took up about a half-second. Well! Now she just had to find something else to distract her for 2.5 more seconds.

Vash's voice caught her by surprise. "It's not that, though thank you. I think I just gave myself a little too much time is all." Sophie paused suddenly, remembering an incident a few years ago. "Vash, you'll be on your best behavior, right? I know you're not fond of things like this, but this is important to me."

Depends, dear Korea/ -pout- How about when he leaves and is outside? neatly_shot May 18 2009, 03:45:46 UTC
Vash stood up straighter, huffing as if offended. He was going to answer on how he didn't need to be told how to act- he wasn't going to do anything. Then he paused. She said it was important to her.

He sighed. "Right... I'll," He looked to the side. " Do my best."

A slight knock was heard from the door. The guest. He flattened his coat, cooling down. Best behavior. Right.

D: You wouldn't shoot me... would you? dae_han May 18 2009, 03:33:50 UTC
Yong-soo had wracked his brains for the right... hostess gift. Normally he brought fruit but he wasn't sure how well-received apples or Asian pears would be by this particularly charming young woman. Flowers would probably be taken the wrong way. Wine was definitely a no-no. So he settled for pastries again, a small assortment from the bakery he so liked. They could be kept for a few days so she wouldn't feel obligated to serve them right away (hopefully). So he held the paper bag (made of shiny white and gilt paper that definitely proclaimed "NOT CHEAP" to the world) dangling from his fingers, the pasteboard box inside filled with such delights as almond shortbread, aniseed biscotti, snowy white Russian tea cookies (which were tasty despite his current issue with a Russian), and chocolate dipped half-moons ( ... )

There will be no shooting. At all. *STARE* sophie_vaduz May 18 2009, 04:22:09 UTC
The knock on the door had caught Sophie by surprise, and she nearly abandoned Vash in her rush to remove apron and run her fingers through her hair before heading to the door. Sophie stopped just before reaching the door, hesitating before touching the door knob. 'It will be fine, it will be nice and fun,' Sophie assured herself, taking in a deep breath before opening to door with a smile.

"Yong-soo, come in!" Sophie greeted warmly, taking a step back. Here goes nothing...

Yong-soo smiled at her, holding up the bag. "Hello, Miss Sophie. Thank you very much for inviting me over." He offered it to her. "And I hope you don't mind that I got something for you. You don't have to serve it or anything. You can enjoy these for yourself." He came in and looked around the apartment.

It smelled nice and there was something wonderfully warm about the place. Did women just have that sort of effect where they lived? He couldn't really be sure.

No shooting, no maiming. Throw me a bone >: neatly_shot May 18 2009, 04:44:13 UTC
Vash, who had almost-might have considered moping a bit in the kitchen, had decided against it and now stood behind Sophie a small distance away. He looked the man over. Pleasant smile, polite, giving presents. Clean clothes. Neat hair.

Vash scowled to himself. This Yong-Soo seemed ready enough to simply see a person from work, and that cooled down his nerves a tad bit. At least it wasn't one of those men who would arrogantly make their way through dinners like they owned the place.

He grunted, and reached a hand out to him for a handshake, seeing how he seemed to have not noticed him yet. Be good. " Vash. Welcome."

Catching the small exchange between his cousin and Vash, Roderich felt some of the tension ebb away. While Vash had been positively volatile when he'd first arrived, it seemed he had calmed down somewhat since then. Vash was making an effort to be civil, and that was all any of them could ask for, really. And Sophie's encouragement helps quite a bit, Roderich acquiesed.

He made a soft sound of realization. "If you did not attend the same college as Kiku, that would explain how I did not meet you until recently. I know most of Kiku's college acquaintances--Alfred, being one example."

Sophie nodded back at Vash, withdrawing her hand and turning her attention back to the conversation at hand. He'd be fine, she was sure now.

"It's such a coincidence that so many people at Nation Corp went to the same college," Sophie said, takinga bite of the salad and swallowing. "Vash was the only person who I know went to St. John, but I've heard that many others went to the same few colleges."

If lateness was a sin- they'd name a boat to hell after me. x| neatly_shot July 24 2009, 09:17:13 UTC
Vash made a grunt of agreement, taking another sip of tea- which had wobbled when his knee jerked. " It seems to make things less formal around here."

He remembered overhearing someone introducing an old friend to a new one in the halls, and how easily they compared college days to the present. He of course hadn't paid much mind, having been in a hurry then.

A Swiss is never late. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to? dae_han July 30 2009, 00:11:13 UTC
"There are quite a few interesting coincidences in the entire company, really. Hm? Kiku and Alfred? I never knew that." Yong-soo nodded in contemplation before realizing he had slipped a little in calling his brother by his given name instead of title. Then again, this was an informal dinner after all... So he went on and didn't bother thinking about a possible faux pas.

"We seem to have a fair number of relatives working there as well. Present company included, of course," he added with a smile and another nod to Sophie and Roderich. "As far as I can tell, I don't think I've run into any alumni from my college around here."
