It is... an odd business practice, though not unprecedented. Several of my own villages are available for rent, such as Mariazell. It's little more than corporate tourism on a larger scale, I suppose, and benefits the local economy.

A village here and there is one thing--this is my entire sister! And they're treating her as though she's little more than real estate! And you are nowhere near upset enough about this!

Presumably, the appropriate authorities granted permission to Airbnb, though I can't say if she was personally consulted. If it eases your mind, those with the funds to buy the rental packages tend to be excellent guests.

I do, however, find the prospect of temporary currency, street signs and use of the police questionable at best...

That's not the point! I don't care who it is--I don't want them paying nightly fees for my sister like she's some--you know! I won't have it!
